Fiber Art by Rommie Gerber-Reddington
Rommie is an accomplished textile artist and tutor.

My Story
Originally trained and educated in Austria, the heartland of textile arts and crafts, she moved to Australia in 1974 with her young family and continued practicing her craft, turning it into an exciting art form.
Rommie works mostly with natural fibers such as Wool (Sheep, Alpaca, etc.), Silk, Cotton, and Linen. She uses ancient and traditional techniques such as felting, weaving, knitting, shibori, and resisting dying to create contemporary textiles and clothing.
Her colorful and bold designs are true collectors' items.
Rommie is currently living in Vilcabamba, Ecuador, researching, creating, and teaching methods of incorporating local alpaca fleece into modern garments and Wall hangings.
Every piece is originally designed and crafted.
‘My everyday existence is devoted to textiles and natural fibers, The smell and texture of freshly shorn wool from a young animal is ecstatic”
